Performing arts center will revitalize Hyannis

Elizabeth Wurfbain, Cape Cod Times, March 10, 2019

Hyannis Main Street welcomes a new performing arts center on the harbor in our downtown.

This new multipurpose cultural center, housing the acclaimed Cape Symphony and other productions, would be on the footprint of the Cape Cod Maritime Museum on South Street, preserving the open space of Aselton Park next door and our wonderful harbor views. This truly picture-perfect Oceanside Performing Arts Center on the harbor would be walking distance to over 50 restaurants, eight hotels, 80 shops, services, transportation (with direct connections to Boston and the Islands), parks, beaches, schools, hospital, museums, youth center, and more. It fits perfectly into what makes a destination great.

We hope the new performing arts center succeeds in its quest to improve the quality of life for Hyannis as the economic and cultural center of Cape Cod. We feel confident that upon completion of the architectural plans, economic impact, traffic, and parking studies, this project will serve as a wonderful treasure for downtown Hyannis and for future generations of visitors and residents of Cape Cod. This innovative project will allow Hyannis to realize its full potential as a quintessential world-class tourist destination for all of Cape Cod and the Islands, Massachusetts and our national and international visitors.
